If you're a certain age -- old enough to hate "Twilight," say -- you probably once owned a Nokia phone.
Its primary assets, as you'll recall: It could be locked by pressing the left navigation key and then the star button; it came pre-loaded with a deceptively time-consuming game called Snake; and it could stand on its butt and do a vibrating boogie to the Mexican Hat Dance.

Dressed in a sleek black shell LG’s Optimus Black exudes poise and quite a bit of sex appeal. Taking its cue from big brother, the Optimus 2X, this lower end variant just could do better. After putting it to the test, here’s what I have to say. 

Form Factor
It’s a good looking piece of hardware no doubt, but far from sturdy. A light drop (unintentional I assure you) from a height of about 3 feet, actually chipped off a part of the bezel, but leaving the Gorilla Glass display unscathed. The phone is not designed to be a rugged handset so I wasn’t required to throw it around – the drop was accidental. Aside from the slight chip, the Optimus Black still looked pretty good with its 4-inch NOVA display, which is an IPS (In-plane Switching) capacitive touchscreen display keeping colors as true and images as sharp as possible. It sports a 480 x 800 pixel resolution with 16 million colors. I found the legibility to be quite high even in direct sunlight and comfortable to view in pitch darkness with the ambient light sensor on.

Sony has announced an addition to its existing line-up of Xperia smartphones. Dubbed the Xperia Neo L, this Ice Cream Sandwich running smartphone will sell in two colours – glossy black and glossy white. It has a 4-inch display with a 1GHz Qualcomm processor and 512 MB of RAM. It also looks quite similar to their popular Xperia Neo V, but this will be the first smartphone that will come with ICS onboard. 

At the Mobile World Congress event held in Barcelona, Spain in February, HTC took the wraps off their One series smartphones. At the event, the brand showed off four handsets, namely the HTC One X, One XL, One V and One S. The flagship handset from this series came in the form of the quad-core beast, which is the One X. Eversince these handsets were announced; HTC has been dishing out timely updates indicating as to when the handset will be available across the globe. In the first half of March, it was reported that Manu Seth, Country Head of Marketing for HTC India, said that HTC will be launching Android Ice Cream Sandwich based smartphones the One X, One V and One S in Singapore on March 30 and in the first week of April they would be available to the Indian audiences. However, HTC had officially launched only the One X and One V in India on the 2nd of April and no word had surfaced about the third handset from HTC’s One series, the One S.
